shadeclan
shadeclan is known for their mysteriousness and lack of functional territory. in shadeclan there is a history of tyrannical leaders due to their desperation of the clan. they will never forgive the abandonment from their fellow clans when a fire took everything they had. while already known as withdrawn and secretive, shadeclan holds a strong resentment for the other clans except galeclan, who they have had a long-standing alliance with. these cats are usually dark in color to match their surroundings. their pelts are often covered in a layer of ash or charcoal because it helps cover their scent when they hunt. food is scarce and so they have learned to eat things most clans would shy away from due to their danger. shadeclanners are proud cats but do not care nearly about the warrior code, and because of their high mortality rate they have depended on the help of cats outside their clan to fill their ranks. they particularly despise timberclan.FOOD: snakes, scorpions, rats, and possums

fogclan
located in a reedy, swamp-like environment shrouded in a thin layer of fog and mist, fogclan is well-named. their territory is uniquely cold, and so most fogclan cats have thick coats to deal with their weather issues. their eyesight is very good compared to the other clans, and it needs to be to see through the unpenetrating mist. despite living near and in water this clan does not swim, as the delta lands are shallow enough to walk through. this clan hunts mostly catfish, crayfish, frog, and salamander and exclusively stay away from rodent-like creatures. they specifically eat heron. fogclan is known for being extremely distrusting of strangers, narcissistic, nationalistic and very defensive on their diet choices, as other clans often demean them for it. they stay away from clan politics when they can. FOOD: catfish, crayfish, frog, and salamander.

galeclan
this happy-go-lucky clan lives in a huge meadow bordering fogclan and timberclan. the eastern boarder is a thick strip of trees where timberclan begins, and the western border is a deep quarry river, always covered in a thin layer of fog that separates galeclan from shadeclan. at one point they had some forest territory but this has since been given to shadeclan. out of all the clans, their land is the smallest. galeclan is unique because of their relationship with deer, and they believe the spirits of their warrior ancestors ride the deer into starclan. this clan is incredibly friendly and not border conscious, despite what the younger warriors want to be. their clan culture surrounds the idea that the greater good matters more than the individual, and yet their leader still voted on windystar's declared warrior code. they prefer defensive battle strategies before offensive, and are quite quick-tongued, often confusing their enemies with riddles or other mindgames. while they appear friendly, historically galeclan has never lost a battle. they are often mocked for allowing kittypets into their clan.FOOD: mice, chipmunk, rabbit, and finch.

timberclan
timberclan is the only clan that would rather die than break the warrior code. they are such traditionalists that they allow no other cats except pure timberclanners to be in their ranks. these cats can become so angry at the betrayal of the warrior code that they have been known to start wars over it. timberclan cats, from birth, are educated well in the ways of being a warrior and these cats are honorable to a fault. when it comes to the other clans, timberclan are usually the first to manage decisions and interclan politics. the other clans dislike them because of their snobbery, and they have a tense but acceptable relationship with fogclan. their mortal enemies are shadeclan and they refuse to apologize for not coming to their aid. uniquely, these cats are the largest out of all clans, weight and height-wise. despite their aggressive tendencies these cats prefer not to fight, cherishing the lives of their warriors too much. FOOD: mice, squirrel, many types of birds, vole, and shrew.
